Everybody has a story to tell. Indeed, each of us has a past, a present and future. Sometimes we feel like we can't move forward. We stay stuck in negative thoughts like "I am not good enough" or that "I am a failure". We live with floating anxieties about what is happening or dark depression from a difficult past, including the toll trauma takes on our lives. To manage these feelings we sometimes engage in self-defeating behaviors like explosive anger, social withdrawal, substance use or other addictive behaviors.

These issues impact children and teenagers, adults and often impact marriages. When these issues arise we feel STUCK. Feeling stuck doesn't mean you're broken — it's normal, it means the challenge is real, and you're ready for something to change.

My job is to help you get unstuck — together we'll explore your story and help you find new beliefs and thoughts you can use to take charge of your life. When the negative takes over our daily functioning, we often have what I call a LION response: the mind and body brace as if there's a lion in the room, triggering our flight, fight or freeze response. Your reaction to the lion is normal - even adaptive, given your past feelings and behaviors. Together we'll face the lions in your life threatening your well-being and relationships.

I am here to help you - or your children - understand what's driving your negative feelings and behaviors and how to find new patterns of thinking and feeling about yourself and your story. Growth and change begin with the awareness that sometimes we all need help. Acknowledging that "I can't fix this on my own," or admitting to yourself and others that "I'm not doing well," is one of the bravest things a person can do. I'd be honored to hear your story and help you find your way forward - with a belief that you are amazing and capable.
